Our ministry began several years ago from humble origins. Our founder Demar Lutz organized monthly outings by setting up a few tables in front of various homeless shelters. Demar and a small crew of volunteers provided warm meals and essentials like blankets, socks, underwear, and toiletries.
Over the last two years, Demar began receiving consistent support from various individuals and volunteers. This led to the addition of two co-founders, Matt Kern and Paul Marchena, to help AOFB broaden the type of services and reach more individuals in need.
In 2023 AOFB received our registration in the State of North Carolina and 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, meaning that donations are now tax-deductible.
